C. Tangana – Mala Mujer Remix Ft. Farruko & French Montana
C. Tangana already took a summer cruise through the Spanish charts with “Mala Mujer,” his pop-reggaeton ode to a gel-taloned tigress that leaves the rapper dancing alone, drunk, and desperate for more.
The only thing left for the addictive song was an A-list remix, which is exactly what dropped today. Crew love came to the track from no less than Farruko and French Montana, whose bilingual features leave the song a perfect expression of pop music’s international easy access in 2017.
But the madrileño rapper, a breakout star from the Agorazein crew, has already proven he’s more than capable of surfing global music trends.
Tangana has been embracing hip-hop’s emo swag and sing-rap riffs for a minute now — for proof, see 10/15, the rapper’s mixtape assemblage of Drizzy covers.
“Mala Mujer” is clearly ready for its commercial crossover moment. French Montana’s relatively reserved feature adds an English-language infusion that initially challenged the Tangana stans who rushed to add the song’s lyrics to Genius.
Farru comes to us straight from the release of his TrapXficante album featuring Fetty Wap, Arcángel, Anuel AA, and Bad Bunny, signaling that he’s still down for dancehall moments after the LP’s darker auditory turn.
With the “Mala Mujer” remix, C. Tangana signals his intent to translate his Spanish rap rise to the global stage. His sad boy romance strikes the right note for right now, leaving Tangana an attractive candidate to be the new feature of choice for the Caribbean to Medellín trapetón power clique.
